2019 Gift Giving Guide

For Our First-Ever Annual Gift Guide, We Have Some Suggestions to Help with Your Holiday Shopping

Gift shopping for the holidays can be one of the most fun times of the year, but we often find ourselves scrambling to find great ideas for friends and families. We asked a few businesses in our community to showcase some of their favorite offerings to make holiday shopping a little easier.

A few of the things we highlighted this year include a Cala Vela bag from Eva Bryn’s Shoetique, which comes in various colors, provides many pockets for storage, and has a water-resistant interior. Tall leather riding boots from Rue Boutique feature alluring back lacing and an inside zipper to ensure a great fit and elevated style. PGH Smile Boutique offers the most effective professional whitening available to dentistry today. There's one-of-a-kind, ultra-cool vehicle storage facility derived from a beautiful decommissioned Catholic church, and a rectory converted into a fully loaded clubhouse for patrons. A locally produced hard cider makes a perfect gift or accompaniment to holiday meals. Made from wild apples foraged through 412 Food Rescue's Hidden Harvest program, the cider is pressed at Godfrey Run Orchard and fermented with Threadbare's house yeast culture to impart notes of citrus and stone fruit. Sales raise awareness and funds for 412 Food Rescue's work to make sure good food feeds people, not landfills. Locally, it can be purchased at Threadbare Cider House & Meadery in the North Side or at participating Giant Eagle Market Districts. Or perhaps an ax-throwing session at LumberjAxes, Pittsburgh’s first ax-throwing venue, is the perfect holiday gift for friends, loved ones and clients alike.

If you like what you see, be sure to visit the locations and/or websites for even more options and items.
