When asked if his art could be the inspiration of South Orlando Lifestyle's launch cover, Fabio Napoleoni did not hesitate to oblige. His art may be very familiar to you, as it is currently curated to gallery displays all over America and Canada; yet closer to home, Fabio's art is frequently featured at EPCOT during two major festivals, where he loves to meet, greet and personalize his art for each collector. While there is a bigger story behind the story, we'll share a few heartful details behind his inspirations.
Fabio, what inspires your style of art?
"One of my favorite quotes from Picasso is, it took him 'a lifetime to learn how to paint like a child'. I think there are a lot of things that are childlike in my artwork that I just adore. I think that's why it draws people in."
What defines your art details?
"In 2004, while my wife was 20 weeks pregnant, we had an ultrasound. She was busy looking at the monitor. You know how you can see the heartbeat, the little legs and everything? But, I wasn't looking at the monitor. I was looking at the technician's face; and I could tell by the way she kept that little probe in the same spot, that there was something that just wasn't right! Everybody knows the word cardio. So as soon as she said cardiologist, you know automatically that there is something wrong with your baby's heart. That just changed me as an individual. It just made me appreciate life. My stint at the hospital with my daughter, my wife, and the people that I met there; including nurses and doctors - they became huge art sources. Those people; I started to draw them! The heart is always in every single piece that I create, I will never forget where my career has gone because of my daughter."
