Winter is the perfect time to change up your accessories! It’s such a great way to add to your wardrobe without spending a lot. It takes a pair of jeans and a sweater to a whole new level! Here are some of my favorite winter accessories that won’t break the bank.
Scarves
More specifically a plaid scarf. I think when you think of winter, plaid is definitely one of the first things that comes to mind. I love throwing on a good scarf with any outfit, not only to keep you warm but to make the outfit look completely different. Take a simple black dress and pair it with a plaid scarf – you are ready to hit the pumpkin patch! Or you look great for a date night. In addition, to the plaid scarf, obviously, there are so many others out there as well.
Over the years my closet has become full of scarves even though we can’t wear them too much in Arizona. I’ve become partial to the infinity scarves. There are some great print and knit ones out there to add to your wardrobe. They are really easy to wear and like I said, able to dress up or down any outfit.
Hats
Not your traditional baseball hat, but a wider brim hat. Nothing new here. I think a ton of girls have been wearing them over the last few years, but I don’t see it stopping any time soon. I found some great ones on Amazon for the fall and winter. There are so many different ones that range from brim size to different colors. Such a great way to change up an outfit as well and make it more winter-ish, Beanies are also a fun way to add some style to your wardrobe and keep you warm. I’m partial to the beanies with the pom-pom on the top – so fun!
Boots
I think boots may be my favorite winter accessory. There are just so many kinds out there that can take you to from day to night. My favorite still are the over the knee boots. They can be paired with dresses, skirts and jeans. I love the over the knee boots from Goodnight Macaroon. They usually are on sale and come in three different colors. The biggest thing for me with over the knee boots – do they really stay up? And these do! And they are super affordable as well. There is a slight heel on them that makes it so you can dress them up or down.
Hair Accessories
Obviously this is all year round, but I think depending on the print it can make your outfit for fall appropriate. Headbands have been making a huge comeback and I am ALL FOR IT. I grew up wearing them and I love the trend! Gossip Girl, anyone?
Glasses
And I’m talking actual glasses… As a kid growing up, I always hated wearing my glasses. I was made fun of by this boy who I liked, and looking back probably liked me too, but you know how it goes in middle school. Also, I was a super shy kid growing up so I hated the attention when I put on my glasses – everyone seemed to notice. Wow, how times have changed! I’ve been a fan of the blue light glasses for a while now and they aren’t just for winter, but all year round. I think I tend to wear them more in the winter months when my eyes are so dry from the weather.
Updating your wardrobe to make it ready for the winter season isn’t too hard or expensive. Just takes a few things and you are good to go! Now grab your pumpkin spice latte and snap a photo in front of the Christmas tree!
