Celebrating Moments That Matter

‘Tis the season of gratitude and year-end celebrations, and Boys & Girls Club of Malibu is incredibly grateful for a trying, but rewarding, 2021! We are celebrating community. BGCM is passionate about making a difference in our community! We do this by providing resources and support services for youth, individuals and families throughout Malibu and beyond. Our work is continuously inspired by every person that we serve, by creating moments that make a powerful impact on the lives of others.

Since the start of the pandemic, the Boys & Girls Club has served over 5,000 individuals and families, providing the following services:

  • Mental Health Counseling
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Disaster Relief
  • Parenting Groups
  • Student Group Education
  • 2,000+ Hours of Social Support Services
  • Workforce Development
  • Health Care Assistance
  • Economic Support and Recovery
  • Housing Navigation.

BGCM Wellness Center services are offered to the community at no-cost.

A focus of the Boys & Girls Club is aiding Malibu students with academic support and care. Afterschool services and enrichment programs are provided at all three Boys & Girls Club sites, supporting an average daily attendance of 170 and serving 1,200 Malibu students. Programs include outdoor sports and recreation, S.T.E.M.-based projects, social-emotional learning, skateboarding with the Johnny Strange Legacy Inspire skate program, career and college readiness, and community service projects.

For Boys & Girls Club staff, nothing is quite as rewarding as seeing smiling faces enter the Club’s doors every day. They extend a huge thank you to their annual supporters, fellow staff and volunteers, Board of Directors, and entire Club family for supporting the efforts to do what we love most. As we move into our 22nd year of service to Malibu, with the community’s help, we can continue to provide programs, services and an environment focused on access and success, safety, inclusivity, equity and support.

Inspiring Individuals & Families

Gonzalez Family, Club Family

“My family feels fortunate to be a part of the Wellness Center and the Club. The workshops and opportunities for parents to learn about different topics have helped me be a better mom to my kids. I feel the one-on-one support has helped me improve my emotional health, for which I'm very grateful. My son attended the Teen Center this past summer, going on field trips and doing positive things in the community. He was even able to take skateboarding classes, something I couldn't have done without the help of BGCM.”

Jaz A., Grade 12 Student

“The Boys & Girls Club has been a HUGE part of my life for the past 7 years and has supported me by giving me opportunities to get involved in my community, teaching me how to be a leader and reinforcing that I can make a difference in the world. The Club has become a second family to me because of their support toward my endeavors and the experiences they have allowed me to have. I continue to be largely impacted by my time as a volunteer and as a manager in training at the Club.”

Roy Ramsey, Senior Citizen

“I am thankful for all the support from Boys & Girls Club. When Woolsey happened and I was left homeless, they aided me immediately with financial support, finding a place to stay and providing food. The ongoing support, including a mattress, bedding, food assistance and more during Covid, kept me alive. BGCM is not only the most helpful organization financially, but a place where I felt comfortable and loved at any time. The Wellness Center services are incredible, providing unconditional help at any time; they check in often to make sure I'm well and taken care of.”
