Classic and Timeless Kitchen Design

Fresh Kitchen Makeover with Classic Cabinetry

For the past 20 years, the designers at Classic Cabinetry have offered expertise and experience to clients to create spaces that are personal, pleasing, comfortable, functional, and well … Classic!  Our number one goal is to assist our clients in achieving their dream with multiple cabinetry options, which entail function, features, finishes, and product lines with varying price ranges.   We have a wide selection of cabinetry lines with price points from affordable to luxurious to fit every budget and lifestyle.  While we gladly design for cabinetry and closet/pantry storage for any room in the home, we understand fully that the real living room of the home is the kitchen!

THE PROJECT:

The challenge with any renovation is the unknown.  In one situation, our clients acquired a home and began the demo the day they closed the on the purchase.  Realizing the client's firm grasp on their design aesthetic required the space to be open, clean, bright, and natural, the finished products had to reflect their vision.  Understanding the new owner's hope to move into their new haven as quickly as possible, we had to immediately envision a design starting the moment the home went under contract. Under limited time constraints, best guess assumptions were made regarding which walls could be removed without affecting the structural integrity of the house, speculating what was behind the existing appliance wall, and questioning if additional electrical and plumbing could be included in new locations.

To maximize every space, specialized storage including drawers, rollout trays, built-in double trash pullout, stacked wall cabinets made the best use of the area. Decorative details were then added to maintain the vintage vibe such as an arched valance toe kick in wet bar, mullion doors with plain glass in upper wall cabinets, turned legs, and furniture style base molding at the island. A custom-built hood with straight lines and minimal adornment was added to the simple aesthetic as well as the unique placement of appliances allowing enhancement of the existing brick structure of the home. To enhance the flow, additional seating was included at the island for four while utilizing the rest of the island space for storage. Other touches using a white subway tile backsplash and the original wood floors (stained charcoal) defined bright, clean lines grasping the clients' firm vision of their design aesthetic.

Lastly, knowing the desire for an open, weightless feel throughout the kitchen, we transformed unused space at the back entrance of the home. We added a wet bar with floating shelves as an alternative to bulky/heavy upper cabinetry in the kitchen.
