Cozy Up to the Change in Seasons with The Latest Looks from Lake County’s Fashionistas.

Article by Annie Lang, Marcy Sparr & Linda Starkey

Publisher's Note: SW Lake Lifestyle reached out to our favorite fashionistas, Linda Starkey of Threads, and Marcy Sparr and Annie Lang of LUXE wearhouse, for a peek at what women will be wearing this fall.

It has been said that October is the new September. With all that has happened in 2020, it just makes sense.

Like many other industries dealing with the challenges of operating during a global pandemic, the fashion industry has had its share of bumps in the road. With disruptions in the supply chain, cancellations of buyer events and shows, changes in manufacturing and the uncertainty of deliveries shipped from overseas, apparel shops experienced a slowdown in deliveries of products for the fall season.

Fear not. Two local shops – Threads Boutique in Wauconda and LUXE wearhouse with locations in Kildeer and Vernon Hills – received long-awaited shipments to provide customers with the looks they want as temperatures drop and the leaves fall. With so many women working from home, and with limited events to attend, comfort and style are key.

This autumn expect to see cozy cardigans, short and crop jackets, distressed and black jeans, natural and abstract prints, cute sneakers, lots of details, layered tops, floral sweatshirts paired with joggers, and plenty of accessories to make your look as personal as you.

1.       From Luxe wearhouse, any room will warm up with a Z Supply washed olive thermal ($64).

2.       Also from Z Supply is a cozy Sherpa crop jacket ($88) at LUXE wearhouse.

3.       Z Supply floral sweatshirt ($54) & joggers ($56) at LUXE wearhouse.

4.       The feline look is hot. From LUXE wearhouse, is a Wooden Ships tiger face sweater ($125).

5.       A Fate tie dye sweater from Threads ($52) makes a bold statement that suits the season perfectly.

6.       From Threads this Tempo silk blouse with an abstract print ($68) can be perfectly accessorized with a statement pendant necklace.

7.       Jen Egan, Threads retail store manager, is ready for fall in a cardigan by Elan ($64).

8.       With a distinctive feline feel, Jen shows off in a cheetah print sweater by Elan ($62) and black jeans with sequins by Vocal ($48), from Threads.

9.      Accessorizing is a snap at Threads with a broad array of fashion earrings that are super affordable ($18-$24).

10.   Camo stays popular with a super-comfy pair of Cofi Leathers sneakers accented in gold ($120) from LUXE wearhouse.

11.   Threads owner Linda Starkey sports Elan black distressed jeans ($68), Doe & Rae animal print top ($38) and an Elan jean jacket ($64).
