Bellwether House, a luxury 15-room bed & breakfast located at 211 East Gaston Street in the heart of historic downtown Savannah, was built in 1876. This lovely house gets its name from the Bellwether Sheep, selected among the flock to be fitted with a bell, thus recognized as lead sheep.  There is an original preserved painting in the great room over the fireplace that recognizes the sheep’s significance.  Thanks to the thorough restoration efforts of Bellwether Hospitality Group, this historic home has been lovingly transformed into an intimate getaway with a commitment to celebrating the very best in southern hospitality while simultaneously embracing modern values including sustainability.
