How to Make Fresh Ravioli by Hand

If you've ever had handmade ravioli at an Italian restaurant, then you already know that there's a clear difference in quality and taste from the frozen varieties at the grocery store. Fresh ravioli is like eating delicate pillows with creamy stuffing that are bathed in a rich sauce. It's like you can taste the love that goes into each little dumpling of deliciousness. Making ravioli from scratch at home is great for special occasions and will certainly impress those who are lucky enough to enjoy your creation.

Next, roll one portion of the dough into a large square. Cut the dough into 2-inch wide strips using a pastry wheel or a sharp knife. Brush the dough with an egg wash (one egg lightly beaten). This will help the ravioli form a seal.
