During this time of fear and uncertainty, we give thanks to our local neighbors and businesses who continue to perform random acts of kindness as well as acts of heroism, like our incredible first responders and health care providers.
Many restaurants, including a host of locally owned ones, have also stepped forward to provide sustenance in the form of meals either delivered or offered via carryout or curbside service—in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
Among these is Benvenuti’s Ristorante, which offers old-world Italian with a new world twist.
Benvenuti’s is offering pick-up family-style meals that serve up to four people. They include an appetizer, salad and entrée, plus bread. Entrée selections include spaghetti with marinara and meatballs, chicken picatta with garlic whipped potatoes and broccolini, and lasagna.
Also offered is the “Benvenuti’s Grill Kit,” which can be ordered cooked or uncooked, which includes four steak filets, Caesar salad, Italian mac & cheese and grilled veggies. Also available for purchase are family-style sides, an antipasto platter and, yes, dessert: chocolate cake for two ($10). Did we mention that wine and beer also is available?

How to ‘Pay It Forward’

Tarasina Compagni, Benvenuti’s general manager, said the restaurant has launched a program whereby customers can purchase meals that will be delivered to the vulnerable elderly or needy families in the area, as identified by nonprofits.
