When stepping into Local Table restaurant in Cypress, you feel as though you’ve left the suburbs. The chic new eatery features scrumptious world-inspired fare prepped daily and expertly sourced from local bakeries and farms.

The hip new hot spot, which opened in June, is brightly lit with exposed brick walls, farmhouse-style tables and a bar stocked with lively libations, fresh juices and herbs. The menu boasts farm-to-table cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. Entrees include Tuscan grilled chicken with apricot walnut curry cream sauce, honey ginger-glazed salmon, lemon pasta, Southern chicken-fried chicken, a gyro plate with fries and more. Burgers made with all-natural beef and pizzas made with a scrumptious assortment of toppings are also on the menu. Weekend brunch options include tasty plates such as crab cakes eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros, bloody marys and mimosas.

“Everything’s always been delivered to us, prepped fresh and made from scratch daily,” says co-owner Shervin Sharif.

On any given night, the atmosphere is fun, fresh and vibrant with quality, local-sourced food as the main feature.

“Definitely people are more conscious of what they’re putting in their bodies,” Shervin says. “They want to know where their food’s coming from.”

The restaurant is owned by the same family behind the successful Hungry’s restaurants located in Memorial and Rice Village. The Cypress Local Table is the second of its kind in the Houston area. The first, established in Katy, quickly became a neighborhood gathering spot along with its sister venture, Local Bar.

Shervin says he plans to also open a Cypress Local Bar in the same strip directly across from Local Table. Local Bar will offer Houston beers, appetizers and possibly even a shuttle service to neighboring Bridgeland and surrounding homes. Live music and local sports broadcasts will also be on tap at the venue, which Shervin describes as a “business casual bar.”
