As you gather around the Thanksgiving table this year, you’ll likely be asked the proverbial question, “What are you thankful for?” Thanksgiving can mean many things, but a child’s perspective can touch the heart, make you pause and appreciate life, especially this year. Meet Elijah, Naydia and William III from Hayes, VA. Their gratitude will delight and inspire.
Eight-year-old Elijah shares: “I’m thankful for Mom because she cooks my favorite foods, rice and corn. At Thanksgiving, I love when she makes her rice dressing. I’m even thankful for my brother and sister because they help me with schoolwork, and I’m mostly glad we have video games.”
Naydia is 14 and shares: “I’m thankful for family because they make me happy. I’m thankful for God because he gives us food and because he wakes me up each day. I’m also grateful for music because it cheers me up.”
Twelve-year-old William III shares: “For me, I love my dogs and how they chase me outside and around the house. I’m also thankful for our house because it gives me a place to sleep.”
Unanimously, they all viewed Thanksgiving as a time for family, joy and love. We at Williamsburg Lifestyle Magazine wish you the same.
