Where Italian food meets over-the-top celebratory shakes! Grace Pizza and Shakes prides themselves on providing food and experiences that will make each guest's day “a little better.”
Adrian and VJ, co-owners, of Grace Pizza and Shakes named their restaurant aptly when they decided they wanted to share a little grace with each customer. Adrian Hembree and VJ Nandlal met through charitable events hosted by Hembree at Grazia Italian Kitchen & Pizzeria. “Adrian shuts the restaurant down for the community. He is always willing to host fundraising events to help. I attended a few and we became close friends” says Nandlal. VJ said that he knew his and Adrian’s paths were aligned for a reason. He wanted to open a restaurant and told Hembree “let's do this together.” Both men had felt the recurring theme in their lives of “the grace of God” and knew that was what they should name this new venture, Grace Pizza and Shakes.
Grace Pizza and Shakes opened their flagship location in Alvin, Texas May 4, 2021. They were an overnight success. “We ran out of pizza in the first few days,” says Nandlal. Since then, the duo has opened locations in Grayton Beach, Florida and Pearland, Texas, ever watchful for more expansion opportunities.
On the menu, you can find ingredient combinations that create the most mouth-watering and satisfying pizza you have ever eaten. Their most popular pizza being the hand-crafted Supreme Grace Pizza. Nandlal says the guests also love their house-made ranch dressing and hand-pinched Italian sausage. However, the over-the-top, easily all-around favorite menu item is the “Sparkling Birthday Shakes.” Designed solely to make “kids face’s light up.” The Sparkling Birthday Shake boasts a triple-layer slice of cake topped with locally source vanilla ice cream from Hey Mikey’s Ice Cream. As if that were not enough, VJ said “let's set it on fire.” So, VJ added sparklers to give the shake that “over the top, Vegas for kids” kind of experience. The Sparkling Birthday Shake experience would not be complete without the entire staff singing happy birthday to the special guest.
In addition to creating a dining experience like none other Hembree and Nandlal love to support the community in every way they can. On numerous occasions, the two have hosted events to provide aide and support for families of fallen officers. “We help because we must. God has had his hand on us so much. We must give back.”
