Hannoush Jewelers is Making it Personal

Custom Jewelry for Mother's Day

When it comes to giving a gift that is personal, meaningful, and lasting, few things compare to a custom-designed piece of jewelry. Mother’s Day is the perfect time to honor the mom in your life with a piece that is as unique and special as she is. Hannoush Jewelers at the Holyoke Mall has been designing custom mothers’ pieces for more than 40 years.

What makes each piece unique is the combination of gemstones, metal, and design, according to owner Rita Hannoush. Most people are drawn to rings, but it is also possible to design a pendant or other piece. Whether your gift is for a first-time mother or a memorial piece, there is a design option for every taste – from traditional to contemporary.

The design process begins with a consultation at the store. Upon selecting a style, stones, and metal choice, the customer’s unique design elements are sent out for production. Each piece is casted from a wax mold in a one-off process, which ensures its uniqueness.

“It takes four to six weeks to complete the process from design concept to finished piece,” says Rita. For Mother’s Day 2022, customers should plan to schedule a consultation early in April. Manufacturing is done locally in an offsite facility. “We use precious and semi-precious jewels to represent the birthstones for each month,” according to Rita. Families may choose to represent children, stepchildren, entire families, or any loved one in the piece, with anywhere from one to eight unique stones representing a family grouping. Silver, yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold, as well as platinum are the options available for the settings.

Although many people think of Hannoush Jewelers as their local source for Tacori engagement rings, Pandora jewelry, and pre-owned Rolexes, the shop has been in the business of creating custom pieces for more than 40 years, and most of the original Hannoush Brothers molds are still in use today.
