Music is so powerful in helping us process emotions. We use it to celebrate, feel seen and understood, soothe a racing heart, or heal a broken heart. The music we listen to each day has a strong influence on how we feel and how we think about ourselves and our world.
I have found that listening to songs that are uplifting and affirming each night as I go to sleep helps me sleep better and feel calmer in the morning. (If you don't listen to music as you fall asleep, you could instead choose the morning while you shower and style your hair to listen to your peaceful playlist!) Whenever I'm working on something and starting to feel a little overwhelmed, or if I'm getting ready to go to an event I am nervous about, I like to have a go-to playlist that will bring me back to healthy, positive thinking.
Here are some of my favorite songs that I find to be very healing. Give them a listen, but make sure that when you make your playlist, you choose music that truly speaks to you and your individual experience. We all need to hear different things at different times.
