Love homemade salsa? Head to the store, but not for ingredients – just get a jar of America DeLoach’s hand-crafted Don Sebastian salsa.
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, America has made salsa since 2017, using a recipe from her husband’s grandmother, who created it in Mexico in the 1900s. America launched Don Sebastian officially in 2017, from her kitchen, then established a commercial kitchen at 2940 Oak Lake Blvd, Midlothian.
“The company and brand I’ve created allow me to provide top-quality, fresh salsas and dips to thousands of people in central Virginia,” says America. “I’m extremely passionate about what I do.”
The product line includes a Mexican salsa in four different heat levels, a chunky pico de gallo, salsa verde, jalapeno dip, and chimichurri.
The salsas and dips are all made in small batches of hand-selected fresh ingredients. All products have no added sugar, no artificial colors and no preservatives. They are dairy free and gluten free, non-GMO, and fit vegan, Whole30 and paleo diets.
Also offered: Venezuelan black beans, pinto beans, sofrito, 3 Bean Caviar, corn salad, and chips.
Products are sold at farmers markets (including online) such as Fall Lines and Seasonal Roots, and in select stores throughout Greater Richmond and Tidewater Virginia and in the Charlottesville and Washington, D.C., areas. In Richmond, you can find the products at Ellwood Thompson’s, Union Market, Libbie Market, University of Richmond, and the Magnolia Green Fare and Big Market RVA.
