"Once you get to my studio, it’s all about you – I want you to relax, let me worry about how your face looks on camera. I trained extensively with the best in the industry in lighting, posing and camera techniques, to make you look amazing," assures Paoli-based photographer Isolde Baylor, whose nickname is Iba (translation: sublime, superb and pride).
"My goal is that our session will transform how clients see themselves, so they can happily share it with the world," she adds.
Iba's photography business actually sprang from her other profession as a veterinarian. Like many parents do, she first got a digital camera to document her children's milestones. That led to handling holiday photography sessions to benefit rescue pet groups. "With more elaborate themes and equipment, I realized I could help veterinary colleagues with their photos for hospital websites and marketing materials," Iba recalls.
Next thing she knew, she'd assembled a mobile photography unit from her vehicle from which she still services pet technicians and veterinary professionals during the days she's not a staff veterinarian in Lancaster.
Iba opened a physical photography studio this January to host headshots, portraits and pets. She's also dedicated part of her efforts to providing photos to people who've been displaced from their employment due to COVID-19 and who need new images for their job searches. "I enjoy capturing images everyone is excited to share," says Iba.
She's even partnering with local restaurants to do Yappy Hours so pet owners can get photos taken of their fur kids while they relax and enjoy restaurants' offerings. Her Yappy Hours benefit local rescue groups, such as All 4 Paws in Malvern and Black Cat Café for PALS (Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society).
