Panoramic Software President and CEO Discusses Work and Family Life in Laguna Niguel

We recently caught up with long-time Laguna Niguel resident, Jeff von Waldburg. Jeff is President and CEO of Panoramic Software, Inc.--a technology company that helps government agencies operate more efficiently.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN LAGUNA NIGUEL AND WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT IT?

I moved to Laguna Niguel in 1999, so 23 years now. I grew up in a small rural town in Northern California.  I still remember driving down Crown Valley Parkway for the first time and being blown away by the parks, sidewalks, and shopping centers. Perfect weather and next door to the most beautiful beaches in the world. I've never left.

TELL US ABOUT YOU BUSINESS, PANORAMIC SOFTWARE. WHAT DOES IT DO?

Panoramic Software uses technology to make government agencies more efficient.  We do that by streamlining and automating processes. There are very good, dedicated people who work in government, but there is a massive bureaucracy. We help reduce overhead and give our users access to information when they need it.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF ABOUT THE WORK YOU DO?

I'm most proud of our Veterans product, VetPro. VetPro is used by State and County Veteran Service Officers to help disabled Veterans receive earned benefits from the VA. Over the past 15 years, VetPro has facilitated over 6 billion dollars in award payments to disabled Veterans in California alone. I'm incredibly proud of the fact that we provided free access to VetPro during 2020 so that offices could continue serving Veterans remotely using our remote signature and document sharing functionality. This kept vulnerable Veterans safe at home and on track to receive earned benefits.

IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE A DIFFERENT JOB IN A DIFFERENT INDUSTRY, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I would love to open a Jiu Jitsu school and teach. I earned a black belt from one of my heroes Royce Gracie in 2020. I learned so much about myself from sports growing up, and Gracie Jiu Jitsu has continued to change my life as an adult. I would love to pass that on to kids and adults in our community.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAINTAIN WORK/LIFE BALANCE?

My wife and two daughters keep me busy and grounded. I love spending time with them and walking our dog Rosie. I attend lots of dance and cheer events.

YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE LAGUNA NIGUEL MILITARY SUPPORT COMMITTEE. WHAT’S THAT LIKE?

It's an honor. I am not a Veteran, but because of the work my company does, I've become very passionate about helping our Nation's Heroes. The military support committee has collected baby supplies for expecting mothers on base. We're also planning a car wash in September and a fundraiser in October. It's a great cause.

WHAT OTHER COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED WITH?

In the early 2000s, I coached football at Dana Hills which was great. I also coached NJB basketball before I had kids. Then I coached my daughters in soccer. Lots of coaching :) I also led our Adventure Guides Circle for two years. If you have young kids, definitely get involved in this YMCA group. We went camping, off-roading, and boating to Catalina. The memories are priceless.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY… AND WHAT DO YOU ALL DO FOR FUN?

My beautiful wife is incredible. She launched a healing platform called Our New Earth. We're both strong advocates for victims and are involved with anti-human trafficking organizations. My daughters stay busy with sports, dance and social life. I love seeing them light up with excitement, so whatever they're into, I fully support.
