While one West Philly native knows she was 'Built Ford Tough,' she realized being “strong” had resulted in her also being exhaustingly tired.
Latasha Jackson recalls understanding that she needed a change. "Life had left me overwhelmed, pressured, and just plain burned out. Being a mother, wife and full-time worker, my self-care was being neglected," she adds.
"Did I have time or the money to go to a big fancy spa? No! Did I want to travel through the busy inner-city traffic to get there? Another no. I needed something intimate, relaxing, safe and accessible, so I decided I should create it. I wanted to show men and women that we can have quality self-care without breaking the bank," she explains.
So, in April, Latasha opened a new mini spa, Body For Me, located at 9 North 5 Points Road in West Chester. "Our guests come to regain their peace, relaxation and positivity," she says.
Starting with a complimentary online consultation, the Body For Me staff can decide which of their waxing, massages, facials and body contouring services are best suited for each client. "Our facials are provided with specials techniques for each skin type, in three different ways -- mini, deep or dermaplaning," says Latasha.
Dermaplaning is designed to help reduce visibility of fine lines and old acne scarring; it also helps the skin with better absorption for products and serums by removing peach fuzz and the top layer of dead skin cells.
CryoSkin is a non-invasive procedure to slim and tone skin and remove fine lines and wrinkles, says Latasha. She adds that CryoSlimming uses a cold temperature procedure to slim bodies, while CryoToning smooths skin and reduces appearance of cellulite. Additionally, she says CryoFacials reduce appearances of wrinkles and fine lines.
They have more than a dozen waxing services, ranging from lip waxing to full body waxing.
