It’s senior year—you made it! Or, your kid made it! Now you just have to document it by taking pictures and handing them out to everyone and their mom. Sounds weird but hey, we’ve all done it. Stop by these places to make sure your senior pictures stand out!
1. West Bottoms
The West Bottoms has an ideal old school, rustic, and urban vibe. There are interesting things around every corner. Make sure you get some cool shots under the 12th street bridge, in front of unique walls and buildings, and with some funky antique furniture.
2. Overland Park Arboretum
The botanical gardens are perfect for the picturesque, colorful and vibrant senior. They are a peaceful escape from busy city life, filled with thousands of flowers, plants and green spaces. Just make sure your photographer has a permit to shoot prior to arriving.
Step into a colorful mural in the Crossroads. This artsy and unique part of town will showcase a part of Kansas City many haven’t seen before. Snag an edgy picture in front of one of the many creative and ever-changing murals, and take a photo by the ivy wall on 18th and Locust while you’re there!
4. Grinter’s Sunflower Farm
This one is only an option for about two weeks in late summer but if you can make it on time and survive the large crowds, you will shine among the sunflowers in a perfect Kansas theme.
Country Club Plaza: Strike a pose on the iconic mosaic stairs.
Shawnee Mission Park: This is always a winner especially if you can time it to showcase the colorful fall foliage.
Museum at Prairiefire: Wear a solid color shirt and you’ll pop in front of the vibrant colors!
