Best friends Lisa Fine and Melissa Fuller are opening up shop as new Vitality Medical and Wellness Center franchisees, bringing luxury and health treatment to Billings. Their hot-cold plunge pools, eucalyptus sauna steam room, IV drip therapy— as well as mud, mineral milk, and honey baths—set Vitality apart from your average spa.
“Vitality is different. It is so much more than a Spa and so much more tranquil than a traditional Clinic,” owner and esthetician Lisa Fine said. “It’s finally everything all in one.’
Vitality’s grand opening is slated for the second week of January and will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony with appearance from Mayor Bill Cole.
While this spa is brand-new, the duo’s friendship certainly isn’t. Fine and Fuller have been inseparable for nearly a decade.
“Melissa is my partner in crime,” Fine said. “I’m so happy, grateful, and blessed that I am on this journey with her.”
Their vision for Vitality Spa started over drinks at Mackenzie River on Rehberg and Grand Avenue. Fuller had been working as a family nurse practitioner, pouring into the medical community for over two years. Fine was a full-time teacher at Billings Catholic Schools, with a heart to serve local families.
“Melissa and I separately had the same sort of, ‘wouldn’t it be nice if some day Billings had this—a place where you could go have a mimosa with spa and medical services,” Fine said. “We just didn’t realize that it would be us bringing it to Billings.”
A property lot opened up the next morning. They bought it, designed the floorplan, and started pouring countless nights into creating what would become Billings’ Vitality Medical and Wellness Center.
“We wanted to provide a space that when you walk in, you instantly feel transported to somewhere that is opulent, elegant, and elevated,” Fine said. “I want to offer clients a safe haven, where you can just relax and be you.”
Walking through the doors of Vitality, you are immediately handed a refreshing mimosa or steaming cup of hot tea. A spa attendant escorts you to the relaxation area, with magnificent vaulted ceilings and marble detailing. A grand fireplace warms the room, bathing everything in soft light. Gentle music adds to the ambiance as you enjoy a soothing foot bath in preparation for
your relaxation or medical treatment.
“One thing that I have a heart for is making sure that every person that comes in feels welcome and happy calm and completely taken care of,” Fine said. “It’s my goal to give every single client the most fantastic service.”
Speaking of services, Vitality offers countless luxury aesthetics and treatments for both men and women—from acne scar removal and breast enhancement to liposuction, waxing, and war body sculpting.
“Melissa’s favorite by far is her laser and liposuction procedure,” Fine said. “Right now, our doors aren’t even open yet and we service a client a week. It is a phenomenal procedure.”
Fine and Fuller have a heart for their clientele. But they also take a vested interest in their Billings community and the local businesses.
“We’re partnering with only local businesses,” Fine said. Vitality Spa is partnering with City Vineyards for their wine and mimosas and incorporating fresh coffee from Billings’ City Brew.
“We’re featuring Montana Brew Pub’s beer, so we can help advertise their product for them,” Fine said. “Gainan’s is a local florist here in town and they’re going to be providing fresh flowers for all of our massages.”
“One of my favorite and dearest partnerships is with Clark Marten Photography here in Billings,” Fine said. As an art teacher, Fine partnered with Rudi Marten for several projects and the moment Vitality became reality she reached out to him. “My very first thought was ‘I’ve got to tell Rudi!” They finalized a brilliant plan: photograph Billings locals and Vitality clients, featuring the familiar faces as exquisite art throughout the spa and medical center.
With Fuller’s clinical education background and Fine’s teaching background, Vitality’s employees will receive certification while working there.
“I was able to synthesize everything that Melissa teaches and created a laser curriculum for our laser students so that they will receive accreditation,” Fine said. “They’ll be fully certified to move forward with their careers.”
Vitality Medical and Wellness Center is aiming to serve Billings, whether through local partnerships, clientele, or employees.
“That is our passion,” Fine said. “God knew exactly what He was doing when He formulated this idea of Vitality and brought Melissa and I together.”
