Colleen Berg is a single mom of five now-grown children, and a grandma of a beautiful granddaughter (with another grandchild on the way). She’s been very active in animal rescue for more than 15 years, and is an untiring advocate for better pet health. A serial entrepreneur, she owns a pet bakery called Animal Crackers that concocts an amazing variety of all natural, human-grade treats for dogs, cats, horses, birds and bunnies.

And if she wasn’t busy enough already, she has opened a delightful pet shop in the downtown Wauconda Main Street Center that offers pet foods and supplies (including horse products), healthy treats and supplements, fun gift ideas and so much more.

It’s not at all unusual when customers visit her shop - Main St. Pet Boutique & Bakery – to see a dog or two, the occasional cat and even recently, a box of kittens that Colleen fostered for a time.

Her depth of knowledge on pet health is remarkable. She understands the impact that proper diet has on well-being and life longevity for the pets her customers bring into their lives. If there’s something a customer wants – and Colleen doesn’t carry – she’ll special order it for delivery to the customer’s home.

Main St. Pet Boutique & Bakery is shifting the paradigm for what to expect from a pet store. Learn more by visiting facebook.com/mainstpetboutique.

Four Tips

1.     Read Pet Food Labels Carefully. Avoid common additives, such as potatoes.

2.     CBDs for Pets. Human-grade hemp-based is best.

3.     Consider Fresh Antlers for a Chew-Loving Dog. Elk is a healthy alternative.

4.     Not All Collars are Created Equally. Martingale collars are safe, secure and comfortable for most dogs.
