For residents at Bethany Village, wellness is a way of life. The 100-acre continuing-care retirement community in Centerville provides exceptional person-centered care, as well as life enrichment and social programming to its independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and rehabilitation facilities.
“We all want to live active, engaged lives, at any age,” says Ryan Ireland, Director of Communications and Marketing. “Every day, our residents choose from a wide variety of opportunities for recreation, exercise, social engagement, learning, and, of course, fun.”
Fitness for all seasons
A newly-remodeled fitness center is one of the most popular amenities at Bethany Village. Residents stay active with easy-to-use equipment designed specifically for older adults, including recumbent steppers, bikes, and treadmills. Aerobics, strength training, chair yoga, and Tai Chi classes are offered in small, socially-distanced classes. The classes are also live-streamed so all residents can participate from the comfort of their homes. Exercise specialists and staff nurses are always available to offer assistance, health education programs, and fitness advice.
For those who prefer outdoor exercise, the Bethany Village community features beautiful trails throughout campus, which are available for walking, biking, and jogging. During the colder months, many residents enjoy walking Bethany Village’s interconnected hallways, which allow them to stay safe and warm indoors in inclement weather.
Delicious, nutritious dining
Good food is one of life’s greatest pleasures. At Bethany Village, residents have a wide variety of tasty nutritious dining options. Head Chef Eric Williams, a Culinary Institute of America-trained chef, serves up delightfully unique dishes as well as traditional favorites that incorporate fresh, seasonal ingredients. Staff dieticians ensure that residents with health concerns always have meals that suit their dietary requirements without compromising flavor.
Dining is a vibrant social experience at Bethany Village. Residents have the option to take their meals to-go and eat privately in their rooms, but most choose to eat in one of Bethany Village’s community dining venues. The friendships that form across the table make the Bethany Village community more like a family!
Support and strength
Spiritual and emotional well-being are equally as important as physical health, bringing peace and fulfillment to our day-to-day lives. Bethany Village provides opportunities for residents to engage in the spiritual experiences and traditions that resonate with them, regardless of personal religion or faith affiliation. Spiritually-focused activities include on-site worship services, volunteering, Bible studies, prayer meetings, and discussion groups. On-site spiritual care staff and licensed social workers are available to provide emotional support when needed.
Living life to the fullest
The Life Enrichment team at Bethany Village creates a robust calendar of fun and engaging activities designed to fit a wide variety of resident interests. From book clubs to card clubs, music therapy, line dancing classes, and even continuing education classes in history, art and technology, there are plenty of chances for residents to discover new passions and meet new friends.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Life Enrichment team has adapted its usual offerings to help residents safely participate in their favorite activites. Residents have enjoyed at-home art and craft activities, outdoor concerts, live-streamed entertainment and spiritual services, nightly classic movies, and much more!
