Short Pump City Lifestyle recently met with team members Katy, Cassie, and Alyse at Agnihotri Cosmetic Facial Surgery to learn more about ACS’s family-focused approach to patient care and how they help make the people and the city of Richmond more beautiful inside and out.
LAUREL: WHAT ARE THE TOP VALUES ON WHICH YOU MODEL YOUR BUSINESS AND LIFESTYLE?
ALYSE: Patient care and safety. Everything we do inside our practice and out is a reflection of this.
LAUREL: IS COSMETIC SURGERY THE SAME AS PLASTIC SURGERY?
KATY: While the terms can overlap and cause some confusion, overall cosmetic surgery procedures enhance and maintain beauty while plastic surgery procedures can include reconstruction as well.
LAUREL: HOW DOES FACIAL COSMETIC SURGERY DIFFER FROM OTHER FORMS OF COSMETIC SURGERY?
ALYSE: Cosmetic procedures for the face require the highest level of technical skill as well as artistry, balancing a natural feel and rejuvenated look. Dr. Agnihotri was trained as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a specialty in craniofacial surgery – which means he is an expert on the face.
LAUREL: HOW DOES ACS HELP YOUR PATIENTS LOOK AND FEEL THEIR BEST?
CASSIE: We all have things we feel self-conscious about, and we love helping our patients put their best face forward.
We listen to our patients’ concerns and never over-sell them on anything they don’t want. Our goal at ACS is to elevate the natural and unique beauty of each patient. Restoring patients back to when they looked and felt their best is our objective, which is why our saying is, “Look the age you feel!”
LAUREL: CAN ACS HELP ME LOOK NATURALLY YOUNGER FOR LONGER?
KATY: Yes! And that’s our motto as a matter of fact. We truly love what we do and that shows in our work.
Lots of patients are not yet candidates for surgical treatments, so these patients are in what we like to call the “pre-juvenation” stage. This means there are small treatments we can do now to prevent larger surgeries in the future. Some of those treatments include Botox for wrinkles, fillers for adding volume to the lips, cheeks, under-eye (and much more), a medical grade skincare regimen, and last but certainly not least, HydraFacials to clear out skin and leave you glowing! There are many more options and we love going over all of them to tailor them to what our patient wants.
LAUREL: WHAT SETS ACS APART FROM OTHER COSMETIC SURGEONS?
ALYSE: We live and breathe all that we offer. Every staff member has tried or used the products, so they can speak to them firsthand. We also believe in giving back to the community. We support many local charities that are making positive changes in RVA every day. Last, we enjoy and love to promote healthy living.
LAUREL: IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU INCORPORATE VOLUNTEER AND NONPROFIT WORK INTO YOUR LIFE?
KATY: It’s baked into our culture. We center our team-building outings around all of the nonprofit events we can. Whether it’s cleaning up the James with the Shiver in the River event or supporting NAMI through the Runway2Life Fashion Show, we enjoy coming together as a team to make our city a safer and more beautiful place to live, for everyone!
LAUREL: TELL US ABOUT SOME OF THE LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS THAT YOU SUPPORT.
ALYSE: Richmond’s Heart Ball, SOAR365, Greater Richmond SCAN, Greater Richmond Fit4Kids, Live Red Foundation, and Goochland Pet Lovers to name a few! Dr. Agnihotri is also on the board of SportsBackers here in Richmond. Being able to help influence events that get people of all ages and abilities to get out and feel their best is what he lives for!
Supporting these organizations is important to us because they help our future generations learn to live better lives and give them the tools they need to be successful. Investing in future generations is one of the most important things we can do!
LAUREL: IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR CHARITABLE WORK SPEAK TO YOUR FAMILY-FIRST VALUES?
KATY: We take this in the literal sense. In many of the events that we attend for the charities we support, we attend them with our families. Our quality time with our families is best spent helping others in need.
Making people look and feel their best isn’t just in the aesthetic room; it’s multi-dimensional. If we can help a cause that has helped someone overcome an illness or tribulation in their life, then it brings our work full circle. After all, beauty and happiness start on the inside.
