Retire in Comfort, with Class

Exceptional customer service, a luxurious lifestyle, and myriad enrichment options set The Westmont at Short Pump apart

You can’t help but be impressed by the elegant and majestic buff-brick, colonial-mansion-style building on North Gayton Road. It’s The Westmont at Short Pump, Retirement Unlimited, Inc.’s tenth community currently under development and soon to be the premier senior living community in RVA.

With a passion for providing exceptional customer service as well as an enriching and luxurious lifestyle for the senior population, family-owned and operated Retirement Unlimited Inc. (RUI) began serving the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1984. Virginia entrepreneurs and friends, Horace Fralin and Elbert Waldron dreamed of providing the best for our loved ones. Therefore, RUI strives to take the senior living experience to the next level by offering diverse enrichment programs, social experiences, and levels of care in a comfortable and elegant setting.

In its third generation of leadership, RUI continues to be a family-run business, keeping these initial values and traditions alive.  Under the leadership of Heywood Fralin, Karen Waldron, and William Fralin, RUI communities offer unique programs to engage both our residents and the community at large.  RUI Signature Programs include RUI University, offering life-long learning; LUXE Unlimited Spa & Salon; RUI FIT; Leash on Life, Pet Friendly Services; Taste of RUI, Culinary Experience; and Care Impact, Private Duty, Therapy Assistance.

“Our vision aims to deliver a lifestyle that our residents have earned and deserve - from our team greeting you in our staple blue uniform to the fine dining culinary experience to our sophisticated décor with a local flare,” said Doris-Ellie Sullivan, president of RUI. “Providing a memorable experience is of the utmost importance and is a companywide initiative we work to provide each and every day.”

RUI continues to expand to provide opportunities throughout Virginia.  With The Westmont at Short Pump, opening in early 2021, RUI can now address the needs and desires of the senior population in the Short Pump area and beyond.

Residents will be able to experience a variety of life enrichment options in a beautiful surrounding with a variety of apartment styles including studio, one- and two-bedroom units, all with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.  There are also care levels for independent living, assisted living, and Inspiritás, RUI’s vision and adaptation for memory care.

At The Westmont at Short Pump, residents enjoy delicious, nutritious, chef-prepared meals in a restaurant-like setting with tableside beer and wine service. There’s also a coffee shop and a bistro with a full liquor license.

Other amenities include 24/7 licensed on-site nurse, walking trail, individual gardening areas, library, theater, full-service spa with massage therapy, and a fitness center with on-site therapy. LUXE Unlimited Salon and Spa offers massage therapy, pedicure and manicure service, and hair styling. Pet services are offered for residents with animal companions under the Leash on Life program, and there’s a dog park.

Housekeeping and laundry services are offered, with washers and dryers available in select apartments. The facility is equipped with a generator to protect against power outages. Scheduled transportation and concierge services round out the amenities.

“We believe that no detail is too small, and that trust is earned every day,” said Matt Winningham, Executive Director of the Westmont at Short Pump. “Here, you'll be free to relax and enjoy a carefree lifestyle with maintenance-free living in a beautiful setting knowing that our team takes pride in our reputation for delivering high quality care and experience to our residents.”
