Searching for Change with Trueheart

Making the world a better place is something many of us hope to do, and this desire is the driving force behind Trueheart, a social impact search engine created by Conejo Valley couple and social entrepreneurs Scott and Amy Malin. A free and easy way for anyone with access to a mobile phone, tablet or computer to make a difference every time they search the internet, Trueheart powers donations to six incredible charity partners: Smile Train, Action Against Hunger, Global Green, 4 Paws For Ability, PFLAG National and Variety Boys & Girls Club.

“Amy and I wanted to find a way to help democratize philanthropy and make it more inclusive,” says Scott. “We believe there are billions of people in the world with big hearts who want to make a difference, but they don’t have disposable income to donate to charity. Trueheart enables everyone to use the power of tech for good.”

The couple joined forces over a decade ago to connect celebrities and purpose-driven brands to team up for great causes through their cause agency, Trueheart.

“We have been blessed to work with some wonderfully talented and generous stars over the years, who helped us raise millions of dollars for deserving charities,” says Amy, adding, “Scott came up with idea of starting our own social impact search engine so we could invite everyone into our community and have a way of providing sustained support to charities that are helping people, animals and the planet.”

When you search with Trueheart, 80% of net profits are donated to important charity projects.

“You'll get the same great results you're used to, while supporting exceptional nonprofits that make a real difference in the world,” says Amy.

Celebrities Brian Austin Green from “Beverly Hills 90210” and Sharna Burgess from “Dancing With The Stars” are cohosting the current #Search4Smiles campaign for Smile Train, a nonprofit that provides free cleft care to children in need around the world.

“Every three minutes, a baby is born with a cleft, and if left untreated can result in a range of potentially life-threatening conditions, including difficulty eating, breathing, hearing and speaking,” says Scott. “For the past 21 years, Smile Train has supported safe and quality cleft care, transforming the lives of more than 1.5 million children globally.”

Searching with Trueheart is as easy as installing a desktop extension (see instructions at Once installed, just open your favorite internet browser to search and raise money for deserving nonprofits.

“People around the world can use and have their searches power donations to Smile Train and the five other deserving nonprofits that we’re supporting for the next year,” says Amy.

The Malins credit their children with inspiring their goal of improving the world for generations to come.

“Scott and I want to leave this world better than we found it for them and for every child. This is our legacy, and we want our kids to be proud of what their mama and papa created to bring people together in service of humanity.”
