As a Board Certified Endodontist and Diplomate to the American Board of Endodontics, Dr. Katie Kickertz takes on challenging treatments that a general dentist may not be comfortable treating. “I am here to help patients and general dentists in diagnosing and treating infections in teeth,” she explains. “I complete non-surgical root canal treatments, revising/retreating teeth with existing root canals, and surgical root canal treatments. I use 3-D x-ray imaging, called a CBCT, to see inside the tooth and make a better treatment plan for my patients by using my expertise and technology. I love the challenges and uniqueness of every tooth and case, and I enjoy helping patients get out of pain and back to their normal lives.”
Katie realizes that some of her patients may have reservations about coming to see her, but one of her favorite parts of her job is seeing patients leave pain-free and happy. “Almost everybody leaves pleasantly surprised that it was pretty much pain-free, they had an enjoyable experience, and it wasn't scary,” she shares. “We take a lot of time with our patients, walking them through each step and ensuring they are comfortable. We try to make the process as relaxing as possible by having patients pick their music and we talk with them the whole time.”
Through Premier Endodontics of Southpark, Katie and her team cultivate a welcoming atmosphere where patient care is a priority. “I’m able to cater the practice to how I would want to be treated and how I want my family to be treated,” says Katie. As the owner, she still does a bit of everything in the practice, including answering the phones. Most importantly, she takes great care of each patient from beginning to end.
A resident of South Charlotte, Katie enjoys exploring the many local restaurants with her husband Daniel. She loves to travel and is a former competitive figure skater who volunteers as an official judge with US Figure Skating.
