This summer, Dave Welch, founder of Costa Mesa-based b.spoke style custom clothier, reminds us how important it is to dress our best for every aspect of our business and social lives. As one of the premier custom clothiers in Orange County—and a personal image tailor to top executives and professional athletes—Dave is on a mission to get his clients a taste of what the “experience of dressing well” is all about.

“Every man has his own personal brand,” says Dave. “And our team at b.spoke is keenly focused on creating clothing that reinforces that brand to the world.”

Dave Welch is passionate about helping his clients look and feel great in all that they do. “Comfort and confidence go hand in hand—and your style and appearance define how the world perceives you,” he adds.

Early in his career, Dave developed a large following amongst NHL Hockey players, dressing well-known stars such as Teemu Selanne, Eric Lindros, Paul Kariya, and many others. Today, he’s focused on bringing his knowledge and talents to a loyal clientele of C-level business executives and high-net-worth individuals in over twenty-five metropolitan areas. Dave expands his business almost exclusively through referrals from satisfied clients.

DEFINE YOUR PERSONAL BRAND

“What we wear sends a message. I try to get my clients to assess their marketplace and competition, envision how they want to be perceived, and then dress that way. If you want to be at the top in your industry, you should dress in a way that reflects that. Your look should be better than your competitors.”

STYLE STILL MATTERS

“During COVID, everyone got a little sloppy and a little lazy—especially with hybrid work weeks. A stellar appearance not only shows respect for your clients, but it also reflects the quality of work your clients might feel like they are getting from you.”

ADD SOME COLOR TO YOUR LIFE

“Gone are the days when businessmen had to only wear navy and gray. Add a little color! Your wardrobe options will greatly expand, and you’ll look and feel better than ever.”

OWN THE ROOM

“We don’t sell suits, we sell compliments. When walking into a networking or charity event, you want to ‘own the room.’ People take notice of an impeccable appearance… a perfect fit, beautiful fabric…You’ll stand taller and feel like a million bucks.”

GET IT

“Heading into summer, you’ll stay cooler and look stylish in a lightweight, cotton and linen summer jacket… unconstructed with no lining and very little padding in the shoulders for extra comfort.”

KEEP IT

“Don’t throw away your ties. While they’re not as relevant today, you can always pull out a solid navy or black tie to go the extra distance in style and dress up an outfit.”

STORE IT

“You can store away your quarter zip cashmere sweaters during these warmer summer months. But you’ll be wanting to bring them out again later in the year—especially for those cool evenings at the boat parade!”
