The Home Builders Association of Richmond presents the 68th Annual Prade of Homes beginning Oct. 5. It will run all four weekends in October. The self-guided tour of the region's top new homes is free to the public and includes 73 homes built by 29 builder members. Well more than half of the homes will be decorated. The homes are located throughout the greater Richmond area, including Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, King William, New Kent and Powhatan counties, and range in price from the $200,000s to more than $1 million.
“The Greater Richmond region’s new home market is hot,” HBAR CEO Danna Markland says in a press release. “The Parade of Homes is the ideal time to tour some of our area’s finest new homes. Discover that perfect home for you or get inspired by the latest in new home design and trends. The Parade offers a unique single source to find builders, locations and styles of homes from a wide array of price points and ideas.”
The Parade of Homes takes place Oct. 5–6, 12–13, 19–20 and 26–27 from noon to 5 p.m. Each weekend will feature a community sponsor: RounTrey Oct. 5–6, Magnolia Green Oct. 12–13, Harpers Mill Oct. 19–20 and Hickory Hill (Hanover County) Oct. 26–27. Each sponsor will host community-wide events that are open to the general public.
2019 marks the second year that builders will compete for the People's Choice Award, which honors the home that receives the most votes from the public. Voting is conducted via text message. More information is available at RichmondParadeOfHomes.com.
“We’re excited that the People’s Choice Award will return this year and Parade attendees can once again vote for their favorite home,” Danna says.
The Parade of Homes Plan Book and website will include detailed information about the event and the individual homes on the tour, including home designs, floor plans and descriptions; detailed directions to each home; and a map. The free magazine is available beginning Sept. 22 at area Kroger and Food Lion supermarkets and Wawa convenience stores, as well as the HBAR headquarters, 400 N. Ridge Road in Henrico County.
The Parade of Homes website will also feature a linked map showcasing entries in a specific area of interest and a search by criteria section to make it even easier to find your new dream home. Follow the Parade of Homes on Instagram (@RichmondParadeOfHomes) and Facebook (Facebook.com/ParadeofHomes) for more information.
“The Parade of Homes is one of the best events of the year,” Danna says. “With so many incredible new homes to visit, there’s truly something for everyone. Mark your calendar now to tour the 68th Annual Parade of Homes this October!”
