Renovating your home offers the chance to upgrade your space to better fit your needs and modernize your finishes which can raise your house value. It’s a simple and effective way to bring your dream home into reality without the hassle of moving and expense, especially in this market! Paragon Construction is here to help you through the entire process from planning and design to construction and finishing.
Paragon recently completed a first-floor remodel for Midlothian homeowners, Hannah and Troy Lewis, involving their kitchen, dining, living room, foyer, and family room. “The project components included structural modifications, adding additional access to the home, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, gas, drywall, cabinetry and countertops, appliances, lighting, flooring and painting,” explains Jeremy Shank, owner of Paragon Construction. The customer’s primary design goals were to open up the floor plan to provide direct access to their outdoor living space from the kitchen, improve the kitchen storage and countertop workspace, and create a modern, farmhouse feel throughout.
The main challenges Paragon faced during this project were structural and logistical. “In order to accomplish the desired outcome, we had to remove a 24’ long load bearing wall in the middle of the home and bring in a 24’ long 1.5-ton steel beam into the home to create the open floor plan,” says Jeremy. Paragon’s structural and kitchen and bath project managers, Les Long and Zach Paul, respectively, developed and executed the structural modifications and project plan achieving the Lewis’ dream space in just eight weeks.
For anyone trying to decide when and how much to remodel their home, Jeremy encourages them to, “Find an experienced design-remodel company that listens to you, can show you the possibilities in 3-D, and that you are comfortable working with to help transform your home.” Whether you know exactly what you want, have no idea, or are somewhere in-between, Paragon Construction makes the design-remodel process easy and serves families in Midlothian, Short Pump, and the surrounding Richmond areas.
