When local designer Margi Hargrove, owner of Margi's Chair & Chair Alike retail boutique at 2205 Bandywood Drive, discovered Pantone's 2019 color of the year was "living coral," she was very enthused; coral happens to be one of her fave hues!

"Any time you can introduce a pop of color, it livens up rooms and gives a warm invitation to enjoy the space," she explains.

Margi says she particularly enjoys using pillows, throws, florals and pottery to brighten and enhance spaces, which is demonstrated in her expert execution of infusing coral in the examples accompanying this feature.

Pantone spokespeople reference their version of living coral as sociable, spirited, engaging, optimistic, joyful and vibrant. Pantone has named colors of the year since 1999, which was cerulean, a blue shade ranging between azure and a darker sky blue.
