Le Mekong

A fresh and flavorful dining option, perfect for a family meal

Located in Johns Creek, the lovely Vietnamese restaurant Le Mekong boasts dishes from South Vietnam. Classic techniques and a pleasant atmosphere create an experience to savor - whether on a date for two, or eating family-style. The open and airy environment accented with enchanting wall art, fresh greenery and hanging wicker baskets, adds an international flair and is inviting and comfortable. With classic Vietnamese techniques enhancing every dish, Le Mekong has something for every palate.

Thảm Huỳnh and Khanh Nguyễn, founders of Le Mekong cuisine, have created a menu to make you want to return regularly (eighty percent of their business is repeat customers who know and love this hidden gem!). With Huỳnh’s classic Vietnamese cooking techniques, and Nguyễn’s management skills, they opened Le Mekong eleven years ago, creating an experience for diners to be able to share their passion for Vietnamese food and fine-dining.

While the phở is pretty as a picture, served up in a bright white bowl and traditional soup spoon on a delicate rattan tray of herbs and add-ons, there are several options for a fresh dining experience. Begin with Betel Leaf Rolls, an appetizer of two seasoned minced beef rolled in Betel leaves topped with roasted peanuts and fried onion. Next, Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice - a flavorful twist on traditional fried rice, Sizzling Beef - tender and flavorful filet mignon presented on a bed of fresh green leaves, and Claypot Fish with its delicate sauce, best when spooned over the side of rice or steamed broccoli. More than enough for two, this selection provides plenty of delicious leftovers for lunch the following day.

The wait staff was attentive at Le Mekong, very much like a happy family. Don't worry about missing any specials because there is “no need for specials, everything is special!”
