Big Taste, Big Hearts

Heroes are not easy to find in our world these days, but I am happy to introduce two heroic gentlemen right here in Sandy Springs. Both have supported many not-for-profit events over the years, prioritizing their personal commitment to our community through their corporate culture. The amazing partnership that exists between Jason Sheetz and Chef William Sigley is one in a million, and combined, they are the culinary team behind Under the Cork Tree and Hammocks Trading Company. 

Under the Cork Tree has participated in The Atlanta Polo Brunch Festival since its inception four years ago with exotic and bold flavors of the Mediterranean.  Prepared with only the freshest of ingredients, Under the Cork Tree's menu offers wood-fired flatbreads, traditional Mediterranean tagines, a variety of delicious tapas as well as some of the freshest house prepared pasta. Their extensive list of over 200 wines from across the globe guarantees that there is something for everyone. Try the Spiced Lamb and Hummus bi-Tahini, the Medjool Dates stuffed with Chorizo or a Mixed Seafood Tagliatelle.

Hammocks Trading Company is a Sandy Springs favorite that offers locals a place to gather and enjoy fresh seafood and land fare in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Chef William has created a menu that showcases his Baja California roots creatively combined with a Southern flair.  I am a big fan of the Shrimp Poboy.  The menu also features an incredible crab leg entree and oyster on the half shell.  There are rotating beer taps featuring local craft beer, signature cocktails and more than 40 wines by the glass. Save room for the Interactive Backyard S'mores.

Recently, Jason and William saw an incredible opportunity in the community and have launched three new virtual restaurants: Fatbacks Southern Meat and Three, Salad Hippie, and Top Bun - delivery-only. Holding true to their business model, each of the new virtual restaurants continues to use only the freshest of ingredients, prepared artfully, and delivered quickly to your front door.
