Lelia Bryan, owner of Dunwoody’s Vino Venue has designed her restaurant to be all about wine. “Vino Venue features wine-inspired cuisine and houses the Atlanta Wine School,” says Lelia. “We are a wine bar, a retail wine store, and a wine club.” Vino Venue also offers cooking classes, food and wine events at their private event facility, and curates excursions to wine country destinations around the world. It is a community of incredibly talented people gathered to celebrate everything that is food and wine in a loving and gracious environment.
Lelia’s dedication to her community is heroic. As a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier International Atlanta Chapter (LDEI), Lelia is dedicated to inspiring other women to become successful business owners. “The LDEI membership comes from varied culinary backgrounds - chefs, food and wine writers, sommeliers, and restaurant owners. It is a group of women who are passionate about supporting their fellow members.”
In 2017 Lelia’s husband Michael, founder of Atlanta Wine School and Vino Venue passed away after a battle with sarcoma cancer. “Michael’s ashes were scattered at one of our great friend’s wineries in Umbria, Italy. There is a vineyard named after him,” says Lelia. “The first vintage of that wine is a 2019, and we have been selling that since the beginning of December.” One hundred percent of the profit from sales of the 2019 Pietra Fenice Casa Segreta Michael’s Vineyard will be donated to sarcoma research creating a beautiful legacy.
