Mural Motivation

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind wall, consider commissioning a muralist.

Brittany Johnson was given a large canvas for her first paid project as a full-time artist- painting an entire wall in Urbane Design owner Jessica Love’s home gym.

Johnson explains the story behind the mural:

The Death’s Moth: Symbolizes life and death, the legacy a life leaves, rebirth, becoming and transformation; the afterlife and the part of us that remains after death, both tangible and intangible.

The Body: Signifies loving yourself and the process. The body is your home, the home is where you love and the skeleton is what carries us through life and remains after death.

The Three Tattoos: The tattoos on the arm are my interpretation of you (Love), as a designer, one of the places you express and share your love, making places beautiful and special for people and inviting others to do the same in your home.

The bull skull is an example of a home that remains. Mikah is there guarding and watching the door.

The dream catchers and clouds and moon are to draw on your energy, the light you shine and the whimsical side I see.

The Luna Moth: Another representation of rebirth and renewal of the body and spirit.
