Pet-Friendly Experiences

When it comes to dog-friendly experiences in and around the city, there is no shortage of fun and adventurous options. Whether it’s the neighborhood dog park to play fetch, or the dog-friendly restaurants, pools, boutiques, we’ve rounded up a number of options to prioritize your pet’s experiential side.

  1. GoodDog!

GoodDog! Trail provides miles of off-leash paths leading to the Deschutes River. The water is a perfect place for a dip after a hike.

  2. Pine Nursery Community Park

The Bob Wenger Memorial Off-Leash dog park at Pine Nursery is almost 19 acres of wide-open space for you and your dog to explore within a safe, fenced-in space.

  3. The Pet Food Express

After a day of adventure, bring your dirty dogs to Bend Pet Express self-service dog wash. They’ll provide everything needed to brush, wash and dry your furry companion. (They’ll even clean up the mess.)

  4. Looney Bean Roasting Company

Grab a coffee at one of the most scenic spots in town, with plenty of grass with tables for families, kids, and pets alike.

  5. Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe

Take your pup for a paddle: rent a kayak or stand up paddle board from Tumalo Kayak and Canoe to explore the river and challenge your balance.

  6. Brown Owl

With indoor and outdoor seating available at The Box Factory, quite often pets equal the number of patrons at The Brown Owl, Bend.

  7. Riverbend Park

The RiverBend Park complex hosts “Dog Park Beach” as part of its off-leash area. When passing this spot, river floaters must navigate multiple ball-chasing dogs as they leap from shore.

  8. Hollinshead Park

One of the smaller off-leash areas in town, Hollinshead Park provides 3.7 unfenced acres in a bucolic setting complete with barn and fruit trees.

  9. Bendy Dog

For pet (and pet-owner gifts), visit locally-owned Bendy Dog in Downtown Bend.

  10. Start training for Bend’s Oktoberfest Wiener Dog races in September. Oktoberfest takes place September 18-19 in Downtown Bend.
