Mavens & Makers serves up warm chocolate chip muffins

Looking for an easy, delicious recipe for a sweet treat? Check out this recipe for quick chocolate chip muffins, courtesy of Ashlea Chance of Cullman-based Mavens & Makers. These are sure to be a family favorite. Throw them together for a special breakfast, after-school snack or "just because." Who needs a reason to treat themselves?

Quick chocolate chip muffins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin or use paper liners. 
  2. Combine wet ingredients in a small bowl until well blended.
  3. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Pour wet ingredients in a small well in flour mixture. Gently combine, then fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Spoon batter into muffin tin, filling each one 2/3 full. 
  6. Bake for 17-20 minutes until tops spring back when lightly touched. Serve warm.
