“WAVE TO A STRANGER DAY”

Boise Nice Project President Rourke O’Brien has announced that January 15, 2022 is “Wave to a Stranger Day” where all Idahoans are encouraged to wave to a stranger. Boise is known for the neighborly and welcoming way that residents treat both each other, and strangers. The city has recently experienced high growth from those choosing to relocate to Boise, unfamiliar with “Boise Nice” have a chance to give it a try. Billboards will appear around Boise, with Jump displaying people waving on the JUMPotron Jan.15, as well as the Boise Metro Chamber displaying the news also on their screen.

For many long-time residents this a day unlike any other but some of us newcomers aren’t as familiar with this common practice. BoiseNice.org – yeah, it’s a thing!

FIELD TO FORK FESTIVAL

FARE Idaho has announced their first annual Field-to-Fork Festival, January 19th, 2023, at Jack's Urban Meeting Place (JUMP) in the heart of downtown Boise.

The Field-to-Fork Festival, an interactive trade fair, will bring together their independent food and beverage industry professionals - including farmers, ranchers/livestock producers, food producers and retailers - from all over the state of Idaho.

Another highlight of the event is an educational component that will be open to the public: interactive panel discussions with our Field-to-Fork participants - from producers to purveyors that are integral to our Idaho food system. These panel discussions will feature everything Idaho from field to fork; farming, ranching, the art of butchery, winemaking, craft beer brewing, coffee roasting and processing, grain growing to pastry making, and much more. There will also be (3) chef-led classes in the JUMP! shared kitchen.

The day will close out with a Field to Fork Celebration at Amsterdam Lounge with the Idaho Wine Commission and our Idaho State Legislators.

LIME LAUNCHES GEN4 E-SCOOTERS

Lime is upgrading its e-scooter fleet to its brand new, industry-leading Gen4 e-scooters. Riders will immediately notice the upgrade, as the goal of the Gen4 is to provide the smoothest ride. Lime has been successfully operating shared e-scooters in Boise since 2018 and is committed to making continuous improvements like adding e-bikes and upgrading its e-scooter fleet.

“We believe in talking the talk and walking the walk at Lime, and when we say we’re committed to serving Boise we mean we’re bringing the hardware to back that up. Earlier this month we launched e-bikes and riders are loving so far, and we think these new Gen4 e-scooters will be even more popular. We look forward to working with the city of Boise and our local partners to continue making our operations here even better and better,” said Rick Crossley, Operations Manager at Lime.
