Ashish Kothari is the Founder and CEO of Happiness Squad, a Boulder based company focused on democratizing happiness and helping individuals and organizations unlock their full potential through integrating the science and art of happiness in their individual lives and company cultures. In his younger years, Ashish was prized for his academic excellence and ability to follow the American dream. However, Ashish soon learned that his interests were not aligned with engineering and mathematics, but felt a call to study human development and help others to flourish. Ashish created a leadership program within the company he worked at, McKinsey, to help others reduce stress and improve overall well-being and mental health. 

In his book Hardwired for Happiness: 9 Proven Practices to Overcome Stress and Live Your Best Life, Ashish introduces nine practices to add into your daily rituals that will change your mindset to find more happiness in your life. Each chapter of the book represents one of the nine practices including exercises involving meditation, tips to incorporate the lesson into your daily habits, and journaling prompts to fulfill a cathartic release through pen and paper. 

While Ashish tried out many practices on himself and his colleagues to figure out the steps that work best to relieve stress and reach a person’s full potential, these nine practices are grounded in neuroscience and psychology on their power to rewire our brains from fear to happiness.
