We at Boulder Lifestyle were quick to jump on the scene when There with Care hosted Curated Closet, a pop-up shopping event. We’re pleased to introduce you to There with Care's volunteer, Marsha Beyer along with There with Care’s Community Development Associate, Katie Hegg. Through a heartwarming conversation we got the inside scoop on all things fashion, and how this event commenced.

“Thrift shopping has become so chic,” says Marsha Beyer and we could not agree more. Thrift shopping seems to be the more favored weekend activity these days. It feels more like a fun treasure hunt to find hidden gems and vintage collections. Which is why we were over the moon excited for the pop-up shopping event Marsha planned. She is no stranger to the fashion industry, and is a natural when it comes to apparel. Because her perspective is so refreshing and artistic take so inspired, we were curious to know more about her journey of combining fashion and giving back.

Her love for all things fashion blossomed at the sweet age of sixteen when she started working at a small dressmaking factory. Years later, after majoring in business, she became a fashion director in New York. She has been in fashion and retail all her life, but she is most passionate about giving back. Through volunteering with There with Care, an organization that provides support for children and families during the critical phase of a medical crisis, she finds new ways to combine helping people and fashion. “I wanted to come up with some different ways to raise money and get new people involved. I believe fashion and love collide and that is what is so special about the Curated Closet pop-up event.”

Thursday, October 14th was an exclusive night filled with live jazz, champagne, nibbles and of course, shopping. There with Care debuted Curated Closet, a pop-up shop that offered gently worn, still-loved designer merchandise. Guests browsed selections of jewelry (fine, costume, vintage), handbags, jackets, home furnishings and more. From Chanel to Louis Vuitton, guests were able to purchase incredible high-end clothing and goods. The shopping continued, and was open to the public on Friday, October 15th through Saturday, October 16th. It was a memorable event curated by Marsha and Katie where the Boulder community came together to help families in need, and enjoy a unique kind of charity event.

There with Care’s mission came to life as proceeds from the event will go towards children and families who are going through medical crisis. “All proceeds will go towards helping families with basic services. We provide grocery deliveries, gas cards, we help if their car breaks down, anything to lighten their load as they are going through this challenging time,” says Katie Hegg.

Marsha’s passion for fashion and giving back is special. She is a visionary who gets things done but ultimately has a heart for helping families. “I feel like giving back is something I'm here to do. I feel like it's kind of a calling for me. That's what I love about volunteering for There with Care. It's never a job. It's never hard to do what it takes to help out,” says Marsha.
