About Us
The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank was formed in 1982 by a group of community leaders who made a commitment to provide emergency food to neighbors in need. Today, the Foodbank provides food and other essential items to 600 different hunger-relief programs like food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters, children and senior programs across 8 counties in Northeast Ohio. Every day, these food programs place food orders online and pick them up in Akron or Canton. The food is then distributed to people in need.
