About Us

Canine Counseling provides dog training and behavior services in and around Smyrna & Marietta, GA. Our training methods are science-based, free from punishment and dominance theory and aim to not only help improve your pup's overall mental health but set you, their caretakers, up for ongoing success. Our services can be perfectly catered towards new puppies, adults in need of obedience training or more advanced problem-solving for dogs of any age experiencing anxiety, compulsions or aggressive-type behaviors. If you are interested in our services you can purchase single sessions or packages online. Canine Counseling is owned and run by Frankie Jackson, a certified canine behavior consultant and former veterinary nurse. Frankie has been working with dogs for over 15 years and continues to improve her knowledge and practical skills, staying up-to-date with the latest methodology, behavioral theory and advances in health and welfare. We primarily offer private, in-person sessions. As a large amount of canine behavior is expressed through body language, we do prefer to see your pup in person, though we understand if you have medical requirements that prevent this. In these cases we are happy to offer virtual sessions via Zoom. Our services range from puppy basics to advanced problem-solving. Whether your woes are related to potty training, separation anxiety, reactivity or leash-walking, we've got you covered. We are LIMA certified and practice safe, kind and science-based training without the use of force, fear or pain. We do not subscribe to the outdated (and widely debunked) dominance theory and use positive reinforcement and counter-conditioning to help the pups under our care. Our main goal is to help improve your pups overall mental health as well as teaching you the theory and skills to continue training well into the future. We vow to treat your pup with the kindness and compassion we would give our own. We are a zero-judgement company and will never tell you your pup's behavior is 'all your fault'. We treat our clients with patience, respect and without prejudice.
