About Us
Central Catholic High School in Canton, Ohio, traces its roots to two different institutions: Mount Marie, established in 1905, and St. John’s High School, opened in 1925. The two schools merged in 1945, forming Central Catholic High School. Today, Central Catholic sits on the same breathtaking, 65-acre campus, purchased in 1909, celebrating time-honored traditions while offering innovative methods in education, character building, and faith development. CCHS offers a Catholic, small school setting with low student-to-teacher (17:1) ratios, fostering a family feel and deep connections amongst faculty and students. There is strong student engagement, with 99% of students participating in at least one extra-curricular activity. Academic achievement is unrivaled, with 100% graduation rates and test scores well above county, state, and national averages. Central Catholic believes in helping students achieve their personal best, while emphasizing the importance of service to others and moral decision making. Mount Marie, St. John, and now Central Catholic have strived to live their mission for more than 100 years – to develop in students, faith, academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to service and social justice. Part of their mission is to ensure that all students can enjoy the benefits of attending a Catholic school, regardless of income or demographic. 100% of families receive tuition discounts, grants, scholarships, or the EdChoice Scholarship.
