About Us
Ice in Paradise is Santa Barbara County’s premier public ice sports and recreation facility, in Goleta, California. Operated by the non-profit Greater Santa Barbara Ice Skating Association (GSBISA). Ice in Paradise has sought to make ice skating and hockey accessible and affordable for people of all ages and levels. Mission & Values Vision: To deepen community engagement in youth and adult hockey, and public skating by expanding participation and serving as a central venue for events. Mission: To provide a wide variety of ice-skating and ice sports programs at affordable prices in a state-of-the-art facility, delivered in a safe, friendly, and fun environment. Values: Accessibility, safety, community partnership, affordability, and service excellence. Supporting amenities include the on-site Rinkside Café, which serves pizza, sandwiches, and beverages. The rink is fully ADA accessible with viewing areas, benches, and penalty boxes. Programs & Activities Daily Public Skating, Learn to Skate, Youth Hockey, Adult Hockey, Camps and Clinics, Events and Parties. Community Before its construction, the Santa Barbara area had been without an ice rink for more than thirty years. Ice in Paradise filled that gap, becoming a local institution. To support operations and maintain affordable rates, the rink relies not only on user fees but also on donations, grants, sponsorships, and community support.
