Welcome to Millennium Medical and Spa. We are a premier laser center with a strong emphasis on aesthetics medicine. We focus on enhancing the body’s natural physiologic mechanisms to restore a natural and more youthful appearance. With our precise wavelength, we are able to activate heat shock proteins which act as messenger proteins to start a cascade of basement matrix activities which includes collagen synthesis. This in turn helps to fill out the valleys in wrinkles and tighten the skin, creating a younger more youthful appearance. I am so excited to talk about what we do here at Millennium Medical and Spa. I feel like I have a new lease on medicine. As an internal medicine physician, it was always so frustrating and heart wrenching when patients presents to me with acne and other medical conditions which displays prominently in the most conspicuous parts of their bodies. It was even more difficult knowing that it bothers them tremendously to the point where it affects their self esteem and their self confidence. All I could do was to make the diagnosis, give a prescription and hope for the best. Now I can treat those patients with the confidence of knowing that I have the the tools to make my patients feel and look better. What a difference for both the patients and myself. We even have the option of combining different treatment modalities. One of the things that I am most excited about is Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Up until this point, the modality of treatment that we have is the use of CPAP machines. It does help somewhat, if patients are compliant. The problem is that it is cumbersome and not natural. Patients find it too intrusive in their lives and many times their spouses have to relocate to the next bedroom. Many patients experience severe anxiety when they try to use a CPAP machine and therefore will not use it because they are unable to tolerate it. At best, the CPAP machine has an efficacy of 65%. The other alternative is Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty. This is a very bloody surgery with an extensive period of down time and the efficacy is even less than using a CPAP machine. Now we have NightLace at Millennium Medical and Spa with an efficacy that is better than CPAP machine. The patients have no down time, no intrusions in their bedroom, no equipment that is going to trigger a panic attack and best of all, the patients not only breathe and sleep better at night but they also experience improved breathing throughout the day. Some children also have Obstructive sleep apnea. The use of CPAP machines and tightening of face masks around their developing structures contributes to zygomatic and maxillary bone erosion leading to flattening of the cheeks.
