About Us

We are a faith community that forms and equips intentional disciples who know, love, and serve Jesus Christ and one another. Today Fr. Doug Busch serves as pastor, and continues the hard work and dedication to the people of Mandeville as he carries out his duties as pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Church in the 21st century. Fr. Mark Lomax, Fr. Michael Schneller, Fr. John Talamo, Fr. Walter Austin and Fr. Rhenné Cervantes preceded as pastors. During their stewardship the new construction, begun under Msgr. Joseph Chotin, was completed and dedicated. Under Msgr. Joseph Chotin, the school, church, parish activity center, and perpetual adoration chapel all have come to be as we know it today. The school now holds a capacity of 800 students and the church continues to grow in ministries that reach out to parishioners in service. The shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help is now enclosed and serves as a perpetual adoration chapel open 24 hours everyday of the year for those who are in need of prayer and meditation before the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Doug will be working to keep Our Lady of the Lake moving forward as his predecessors did and focuses on the parish mission through Prayer, the Eucharist, Education, and Service. Our Lady of the Lake Parish is honored to celebrate 175 years of faith, service, and blessings. Join us as we reflect on our rich history and look forward to a bright future together.
