Schnepf Farms owner Mark Schnepf, whose family has owned the 300-acre farm in Queen Creek, AZ for over 80 years, said his father talked of building a cemetery on the property in the 1970s, but "never got around to doing that." As a former mayor of Queen Creek, Mark knew the community always needed a cemetery, but since the value of land was only going up decided to donate a portion of the family farm for the creation of the first cemetery in the Southeast Valley - San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms.
