Molly Wellmann—Cincinnati’s own mixologist extraordinaire—graciously created a one-of-a-kind libation just for Loveland.
The bourbon-based drink, called the “Sweetheart of Ohio” after our nickname, features strawberry preserves, mint and champagne for a cool, tasty, easy-sippin’ cocktail that just screams summer.
The strawberries are another nod to our history—in the 1800s, the Clermont County hills were known for producing an abundance of strawberries that shipped all over the United States.
To top off the cocktail, “We needed a little sparkle with the champagne to represent how beautiful Loveland is,” Molly says. “And bourbon for its down-home, all-American feel!”
- 1.5 oz bourbon
- 1 tbsp strawberry preserves
- 2 sprigs of fresh mint
- Top with champagne
Add bourbon, strawberry preserves and one sprig of mint to a cocktail shaker. Add ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Top off with champagne and garnish with a strawberry and sprig of mint.
