Holiday Decor and More

This holiday season shop local with Interiors Plus and This N That Consignments for all your festive decorating needs.

This year many of us have been spending a lot more time inside our homes. Although the upcoming holidays might be a little different for some, there’s no reason that we can’t still festively decorate and get into the holiday spirit with our families.

If you need help with your holiday decorating, or are simply looking for the perfect ornament, look no further than Interiors Plus and This N That Consignments in Mason.

Interiors Plus

As the name implies, Interiors Plus specializes in interior design, but their service and selection extends much further than that.

“Many other designers don’t have the same resources that we do,” explains owner and designer Helen Wright. “We don’t have the same limitations that many independent designers have.”

Their many resources include window treatments, furnishings, art and accessories, custom botanicals, holiday decor and more. If you are searching for the perfect ornament, or even a fully decorated faux tree this holiday season, Interiors Plus handles both.

“We put up fully decorated trees in our showroom and sell ornaments off of them or even the trees themselves. We also offer in-home Christmas decorating,” Helen elaborates.

Through Interiors Plus, Helen offers her well-honed expertise, cultivated from over 40 years of industry experience.

“We stand out because I have such an extensive background,” Helen says. “It’s something I’ve always been interested in since I was young. Some people are just born to their careers,” she laughs.

Not only does Interiors Plus have a storefront showroom in Mason, but their designers can also come to your home and assess your space for its design possibilities. Store visit appointments can also be scheduled, which helps ensure devoted time with a designer, and also reduces crowding, something that has become a concern for shoppers in the COVID-19 era.

“What’s nice about our location is that it’s small and people know that it’s safe to come in without experiencing crowding,” Helen elaborates.

Before the pandemic, Interiors Plus also hosted social gatherings like Ladies Night and various charity events. Although they still held their Holiday Open House event in early November, all other events have been temporarily postponed, with hope for a future return.

Although the convenience and safety of online shopping is hard to pass up this holiday season, Helen implores readers to consider the importance of buying local.

“Honestly, if people don’t shop local, there won’t be any local left to shop. That’s what it comes down to,” Helen says. “They’ll receive much better customer service from a local operation and there are far fewer complications involved.”

Interiors Plus also offers shipping services to further accommodate their customers. To schedule an appointment, simply call the store or send an email through their website.

“We appreciate our customers keeping us going at this time,” Helen tells us. “That’s what small business is all about.”

This N That Consignments

Lacy Alfrey, owner of This N That Consignments, always enjoyed thrift store shopping, but was tired of the hassle.

“I wanted a store that could provide a great deal for everyone,” she explains. “I loved thrift store shopping, but wanted a place that you didn’t have to sift through all the junk.”

As a dedicated mother, she was seeking a job that could offer her flexibility. These two ideas merged to create This N That, a unique consignment store located in Mason.

Since then, Lacy has developed a strong team who enjoy what they do.

“A common thing we hear is ‘you girls have too much fun,’ and we do!,” Lacy laughs.

If you’ve ever considered selling items through consignment, but were afraid of scrutiny, Lacy insists that This N That is different.

“We aren’t as picky as some other consignment stores,” Lacy explains. “Our motto is ‘you never know what you’ll find,’ and that’s the truth!” They carry a range of brands from Frontgate to Thomasville to Ikea and newer furniture to antiques.

Once the pandemic arrived, Lacy had to get creative. She decided to add a webstore function to her website, where customers can shop from home and pick their items up from the store within five days. Furniture also be delivered.

“If you aren’t comfortable with shopping out in public yet, but still have that retail therapy itch, then we are your store!,” Lacy announces enthusiastically.

They also feature specialized Christmas decor departments online and in-store, but you should probably visit the store in-person if you want the full Christmas experience.

“We have a ‘Christmas Room’ which consists of 1500 sq. ft. of holiday decor and it is stuffed full of anything and everything you can think of for the holidays,” Lacy explains.

She also stresses the importance of shopping locally this holiday season.

“Shopping locally is so important for the economy,” she points out. “Also, you have a lot more to choose from when shopping in-store and honestly it’s cheaper. Anything $8.99 and above will be on our webstore, but our prices start at $1.25 in-store.”

If you’re interested in consigning with This N That, you can bring your items to the store Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Simply text or email pictures of any furniture you’d like to consign.

“I would love for everyone to give consignment a try,” Lacy urges. “Save money buying consignment, big or small, and make money selling big or small!”
