Are Your Legs Ready for Summer?

American Vein & Vascular Institute Can Help

Do you find yourself wearing pants or long dresses and skirts to cover up your legs? Are painful varicose veins and/or spider veins stopping you from living with confidence? American Vein & Vascular Institute treats visible veins and leg pain effectively, painlessly, and often in about an hour.

Are you ready to take back your legs this summer?

Q: Do you offer cosmetic only treatment packages?
A: Yes! Our Lovely Legs Beauty Treatments utilizes sclerotherapy to assist with the elimination of spider veins and small surface veins by injecting a solution directly into the vein. This can decrease and often eliminate the visibility of the spider vein. However, it is not always a permanent cure—there may be greater problems below the surface when symptoms include visible veins.

Q: What are common symptoms of vein disease?
A: The most common symptoms we see are visible varicose or spider veins, restless legs, swelling, heaviness at the end of the day, numbness, cramps, and discoloration or thickening of the skin on the leg.

Q: Are vein treatments covered by insurance?
A: Most health insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid, cover treatment of vein disease. During your first appointment and consultation, we will discuss your coverage and payment options if you do not have insurance.

Q: Are the procedures painful?
A: In general, vein ablations cause little discomfort and leave no scarring–only minor, temporary bruising that resolves over time through the healing process. Living with the symptoms of vein disease is far more uncomfortable than the treatment itself.

Q: Is there any bruising, scarring or swelling?
A: There is a chance of mild bruising that will last about a week. You should not have any scars. Any pre-procedure swelling should improve following treatment.

Q: How soon will my symptoms improve?
A: Most patients feel immediate relief, with the cosmetic benefits becoming apparent over a matter of weeks. For others, symptoms resolve over time through the healing process–generally from 6 to 12 weeks.

Q: Does American Vein & Vascular Institute perform vein stripping?
A: Absolutely not. We use minimally invasive techniques, including endovenous ablation. This means we treat the vein from the inside, using one small incision to insert a tiny catheter in the vein. A heat source is then delivered to the tip of the catheter, which permanently seals the diseased vein but leaves it in place.
