Built in the heart of Uptown Dallas, the hotel was the brainchild of Dallas oil heiress Caroline Rose Hunt, a prolific hotelier and considered the wealthiest woman in America. Known for her extraordinary vision, Caroline dreamt up the hotel’s grandeur from a slice of Dallas once rife with run-down car lots and warehouses. She hoped her exquisite hotel would inspire a renaissance in Uptown Dallas. Indeed it did. Built more than 30 years ago, the hotel now lies within the 11-acre grounds of The Crescent, a stunning mixed-use space that combines exquisite architecture with modern amenities, offices and shopping.
Inspired by the perfect crescent-shaped curve of the 18th-century Royal Crescent Hotel in England, the Hotel Crescent Court is an astounding architectural feat. Its masterfully crescent-shaped contour, limestone block walls, and slated roofs imported from England echo the ambiance of 19th-century Europe. The building broke a world record for the amount of limestone used during construction and holds more than 10 types of imported Italian and Spanish marble. The lobby is home to a 2,000-year-old Roman marble statue of the god Aesculapius.
Not to be lost in the hotel's exquisite build are its lavish guest rooms and amenities. In 2018, the hotel completed a $30 million renovation, revamping the entirety of its guest rooms, suites and amenities. Some suites feature spiraling staircases and floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the courtyard. The newly-renovated spa offers relaxing body treatments, a dry sauna and nail salon.
For the epicurean, Hotel Crescent Court offers 13 on-property restaurants and lounges from the members-only The Crescent Club to simple fast-casual eateries. One of its not-to-be-missed restaurants is Nobu, recognized for fashioning a new style of Japanese cuisine. On the central lobby level is the hotel’s posh cocktail bar, Beau Nash, open until midnight daily.
